Duvi's Dog Sitting

Home dog sitting · Fort Lauderdale, FL

A full build for a home dog sitting business, styled straight from their hand drawn business card. Online booking collects pup photos and vet records, and lands in a phone-first admin panel with a calendar the sitter runs the week from. The print flyer, QR codes, and new business cards came out of the same design.

Leyva Law

Law firm · Miami, FL

A bilingual redesign for a personal injury and insurance claims firm: authored English and Spanish pages, a protected contact intake, and copy checked line by line against the Florida Bar's advertising rules. A tenth of the weight of the site it replaced, built to read clean on a phone.

Miami Gliders

Flight school · Miami, FL

Full design and build for a soaring school flying since 2003, plus the systems behind the counter: online ride booking synced to the staff calendar, digital waivers, gift certificates, and a phone-first admin panel the crew uses every day.

Matias Pigni

Designer and photographer

A fast, gallery-first portfolio with a custom admin built from scratch: the artist uploads, reorders, and publishes his own photos and pages without touching code or paying for a platform. Automatic image optimization keeps it sharp on 4K screens and quick on phones.

Felipe Melendrez

Artist · Miami, FL

A single page monograph for a Miami painter: 22 works across three series in one lightbox gallery, an exhibitions page going back to 2009, and a six layer image protection process that writes his rights into every file and turns AI crawlers away. Pitched as three working concept sites; the monograph won and was built out.

Concepts

Concept Designs

Before a project starts, I build the pitch as a real site. These are working concepts a client can click through and react to, not mockups in a PDF.

Natalya Kimenko

Musician and cacao lounge

A full brand build for a musician and her cacao ceremony lounge, working from her brandbook: music, shows, and lounge pages in her palette and type, staged and ready while the project waits on final photography.

Services

What I do

New Websites

Designed and built by hand, no page builders. Fast on phones, accessible, and yours to keep.

Redesigns

A dated or broken site rebuilt on a solid base, with redirects handled so Google doesn't lose track of you.

Local Visibility

Google Business Profile, Maps, review links, and on-page SEO so nearby customers actually find you.

Booking And Forms

Scheduling, digital waivers, gift certificates, contact forms. Proven in production at a busy flight school.

Fixes After Launch

I stand behind what I build. If something is broken or buggy, I fix it, and any new work later comes with a quick, upfront quote.

Email That Arrives

Domain email configured the way mail providers expect, so invoices and replies land in inboxes, not spam folders.

Process

How a project runs

  1. Tell me about your business

A short note about what you do, what the site needs to do, and what you have today.

  2. Scope and quote

You get a fixed quote scoped to what you actually need. A simple refresh costs far less than a booking system. No retainers.

  3. Build

Design and build with progress at a private preview link. You react to real pages, not mockups.

  4. Launch

Domain, hosting, email, Google. I handle the cutover and keep your old links working.

  5. Care

I stand behind the build. If something breaks, I fix it, and new work is a quick quote away.

Every quote is scoped to the job: a plain number, what it covers, and when it ships.

The toolkit

Precision by training

Aviation runs on checklists, redundancy, and tight tolerances, and the habit does not switch off at the desk: every build gets a preflight, every launch follows a checklist, and every live site has a backup and a monitor watching it.

The stack is proven and boring on purpose: hand-written HTML and CSS, JavaScript only where it earns its place, Bootstrap when a grid speeds things up, PHP and SQLite behind the admin panels, and Claude Code in the loop as a second set of eyes. Simple stacks fail less and load faster.

The approach is SEO first with practical design: fast pages that search engines reward, and layouts that make the customer's next step obvious.

The studio

About me

Black and white photo: the studio's owner smiling on a night ramp in front of a business jet with its airstair down

My name is Angel, and I have been a professional pilot and flight instructor for over 20 years. The web work started in college: I was in pilot training while studying atmospheric science and meteorology, and the weather labs are where I learned to write code, getting weather models to run.

Building websites became the passion project that stuck, and these days that means helping small businesses with what they need online. It is a small operation by choice. Rather than chase every job, I reach out to the businesses I would genuinely like to work with and keep the list short.

AFS Designs is a one-person studio. You work directly with the person who designs, builds, and maintains your site: no account managers, no handoffs, no ticket queue. I take a few projects at a time and answer my own email.

Your site lives on your own hosting, in your name, and I set all of it up. After launch, small changes are quick and easy, and bigger ones get a plain time-based quote before any work starts. Because you own all of it, nothing about your site depends on keeping me around.

AFS is Angel's Flying Service, my company. Flying has nothing to do with websites, but the way pilots work has everything to do with them: checklists before anything moves, backups for the backups, and no drama when something goes wrong. The name is a philosophy of work ethic and integrity: a promise about how I work.
